Connecting the pool lights

Being able to turn the pool lights on and off easily and without going into the pool technical space is one of the great pleasures of any BoPi. Wiring your pool light to BoPi is really easy. Usually pool lights are controlled by a simple 2 way switch installed on the electrical pool panel.

To control the pool lights with BoPi, you need to unplug one side of the switch and put a wire going to BoPi between that wire and and where it was plugged on the switch.

If you don’t want to crimp a new connector, you can also track the wire coming to the switch from the breaker and disconnect it from there, connect that wire to BoPi and a wire from the breaker to BoPi.

This wiring presents 2 bonus features :

• you can keep the light off definitely by puting the switch on the off position.
• By turning the lights on in BoPi, you can also use the switch to blink the lights on and off to change the color in case of LED lights that support this feature.
