How relays work

Relays are what BoPi uses to to turn things on or off. They are like a switch. They DO NOT provide power, they only interrupt it.

A relay is like a remote-controlled switch for electricity. On the working side — the part that actually carries power to a device — it has metal contacts that can either touch together to let electricity flow, or separate to stop it. When the relay is “off,” the contacts are apart, and the circuit is open, so no current flows. When the relay is “on,” the contacts are pressed together, just like flipping a light switch, and electricity can pass through to whatever is connected.

All BoPis have 4 relays that can control 4 things (pump, lights, electrolysis, ….)
